In this well-known parable of the Good Samaritan, we come across a person who was very religious, but who thought he didn’t need God’s grace. We can be like that person too, thinking that our Christian lifestyle makes the need for God’s grace less necessary. Jesus challenges this teacher of the law – and us – to see that we all need God’s grace, and that God offers this grace to all – irrespective of their social standing or moral behaviour.
Once we have received God’s grace, the way we see other strugglers on the journey is totally transformed. We become people who willingly pass grace on!
